"We Love Our Motherland"—A Bullet Train Trip for Young People from the Mainland, Taiwan, HKSAR and Macau SAR
「愛我中華」兩岸四地青年大匯聚火車團
Three of our students had a chance to meet youngsters from mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau in China during this summer vacation. After taking a four-hour bullet train ride, they spent two days in Wuhan. Then they rode almost 28 hours on a local train to Inner Mongolia. They stayed there for 5 days and returned to Shenzhen by air.
During the journey, students visited the Wuhan Iron and Steel Factory (武漢鋼鐵廠), Dongfeng Motor Factory (東風汽車廠) and Coca-Cola production line in Wuhan. In Mongolia, they visited the pasture and the dairy production line of Yili Industrial Group (伊利實業集團). Students realized how sophisticated the modern manufacturing industries were in our mother country. That explained why China was called the "World Factory".
The most unforgettable experience was the life in Inner Mongolia. They had tried camel-riding and living in yurts. They set campfires at night and shared their feelings in groups at the vast grassland of Mongolia. This was the first time students deeply felt that our mother was a great country and they were proud of themselves for being a Chinese.
