What a lively way in portraying the School's Major Areas of Concern & Yearly Educational Theme!
本年度主題週會──以活潑生動的形式描繪本年度學校關注事項及教育主題
All students are gathering in the school hall today appreciating the performance of our senior form students who portray the 2011-2012 Major Areas of Concern and the Yearly Educational Theme of the school lively and vividly in the form of fun and drama.
The first part of the drama introduces the joint effort of Teaching, Discipline and Guidance in "Cultivating Students' Personal Quality and Promoting National Education". We believe that a well-educated and respectable youngster is the one who is brought up with Chinese virtues and is able to think critically with an open mind.
Up next is our second Major Areas of Concern, i.e., "Optimizing Students' Competence in English through Language Across the Curriculum". The drama shows how a student realizes the paramount importance in the learning of English and how he has made up his mind to improve himself. The story encourages students to overcome all kinds of difficulties in learning English. It ends with a well-known slogan to S. C. Gawers, "Don't be shy. Just try!"
The final part of the drama highlights the third Major Areas of Concern of "Developing Students' Self-Learning Capacity for Effective Learning". With proper learning skills and initiative in studying, S. C. Gawers are trained to be effective and and active learners.
The Yearly Educational Themes at the latter part of the drama shed light to the foci of the year. They are:
Love ourselves, Love our School;
Develop our Potential, Serve our School;
Strive for Excellence, Contribute to our Community.
The Yearly Theme and the Major Areas of Concerns of the year is set off when all students vow "I will do my very best to love myself and my school, and to pay every effort to serve the school, the community as well as our mother country."
