Second Form-based Pastoral Care Activity
第二次級本導育活動

On 3rd October, the whole school participated in the second Form-based Pastoral Care Activity. Students of different forms were assigned different activities that catered for their needs.

S.1 students learned study skills. They were led to explore various efficient ways of studying such as different methods of reading and the way to jot notes during the lesson. It is the right time to equip the S.1 students such skills so that they are well-prepared, either technically or psychologically, for the heavy workload in the coming future.

S.2 students are youngsters who start to think about what they will be. The Department of Careers designed the program "Ideal Career" for our S.2 students. Through evaluating what their "ideal" was, the S.2 students had a chance to share their feelings and values with their homeroom teachers.

S.3 students took part in the Inter-class Current Affairs Knowledge Quiz with the joint effort of ECA and Life Education Department. Students gathered in the school hall to support their class representatives who had devoted every effort to answer the challenging questions on general knowledge and current affairs. Competition was intense. Students clapped their hands to support their class representatives in unison when their classmates got the correct answers. However, when the answer was wrong, students cried out with a sigh. The competition was able to arouse students' concern on current affairs and to raise their awareness on social issues especially on what's happening around them. After an hour of intense competition, the final winner was 3C.

S.4 students gathered in the school platform to listen to the Introduction of OLE & SLP. The OLE & SLP task force introduced to students the background and functions of OLE & SLP and students learned how to enter information into their personal profiles through the eclass.

S.5 students learned how to make their own SLP. To begin with, students were guided to complete a thorough reflection on their personalities, values and merits. Students were then provided with handbooks to assist them for such reflection. They were divided into groups of three and their progresses would be followed by their supporting teachers.

S.6 students attended a talk by a representative from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). The speaker explained the admission policy of the HKUST. Ms. Lee Yim Ling, our Assistant Careers Mistress, then introduced to our S6 students the application procedure of JUPAS. It was a fruitful and informative afternoon for our sixth-formers.

S.7 students were preparing themselves for their tertiary studies and it was the right time to discuss with them their JUPAS choices. They were taught in this afternoon activity how to make their choices according to their academic abilities and personal interests. They were required to hand in their final decision in December.
