The School Prefect Inauguration Ceremony was held on 14th October, 2011. The ceremony began with an opening address by our School Principal, Ms Tang Wai Chun, Agnes, whose gentle reminder that all prefects of S. C. Gaw should abide to school rules and that each should become his/her own prefect is something all S. C. Gaw prefects need to bear in mind. It is believed, under their leadership, school lives of S. C. Gaw will further be enriched. Mr Tang, also shared with her views on 'freedom' --- "It doesn't mean you can do whatever you like without following rules or regulations. In Chinese values system, freedom means making choices and taking up the responsibilities of your choices. So, the higher the standard of self-discipline of a person, the more the freedom he may deserve".
After the short opening address, Ms Tang pinned the badges for the Head Prefects and Vice Head Prefects, followed by the members of the Prefect Team of the 8 major departments. They are:
a) House Captains
b) Prefects of Extra-curricular Activities Department
c) Prefects of Board of Studies
d) Prefects of Department of Careers Development & Student Development
e) Prefects of Department of Information Technology
f) Prefects of Department of Guidance & Education Needs
g) Prefects of Department of Life, Moral, Civic & National Education
h) Prefects of Department of Discipline & Life Skills Training
These student leaders will be the Student Body to serve the school and the community in a dynamic way. Let us start charity at home (at S. C. Gaw) and work for the realization of our School Mission as well as the School Yearly Theme of 2011-2012 through the enthusiasm and dedication of our young student leaders.
廿一世紀新領袖
廿一世紀是充滿挑戰和高速發展的年代，在社會急劇進步的同時， 也提醒我們要不斷地學習和更新自己各項才能來配合社會的轉變和需要。
各位同學，你們是社會未來的接班人，除了擁有學術知識外，還需要具備遠大目光、領導才能及勇於承擔的素質來迎接未來挑戰及克服各種困難。
此時此刻〔領袖生就職典禮〕，正是一個難能可貴的機會，讓大家好好的裝備自己，學習領導才能和策劃活動技巧，以及體驗多姿多彩的校園生活，從而獲得寶貴的經驗。
最後，祝願各位同學都能夠成為充滿自信、超凡卓越的成功領袖， 在未來的日子裡，為學校、為社會、為國家獻上熱誠的服務和無私的奉獻。
我們的反思：
絕大部分的青川同學，是屬於能在學校取得成功感的一群。但我仍要鼓勵大家，在面對不穩定的未來，更應建基於自己已有的良好基礎，再加一把勁，協助自己更上一層樓，以保持自己的優勢，千萬不要做一隻貪睡的兔子，被有毅力的烏龜趕過。
第一位成功登月的美國太空人杭思朗（或譯岩士唐）曾說：「我在月球上的一小步，是人類的一大步。」我也借用他的句子說：「每一位「青川人」都多邁出一小步，便是「青川」的一大步。」願共勉之！
