The 4th National Primary & Secondary Schools Development Forum was held at Beijing from 29th October to 31st October, 2011 at Beijing. Over 800 principals and teachers from the various provinces of China took part in the Forum. In addition to the academic and educationalists from the prestigious universities and colleges of China, there were experts and academics from USA, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan and Hong Kong. The Forum provided a good chance for schools both in China and overseas to learn from each other. Schools with good experience in trying out specific educational initiatives presented their stories or demonstrated their experience at this showcase. Our Principal, Ms Agnes Tang, was invited as the Expert Consultant (the only representative of Hong Kong) to report on the 'Basic Education of Hong Kong'. Ms Tang shared the experience of the New Academic Structure of Hong Kong (334) with the audience. There were inspiring ideas in multi-perspectives to enhance discussions and reflections. After the Forum, there was a visit to Tsinghua University and Tsinghua Science Park. In the exchange, it was realized that nothing is impossible if we can learn from others and get the way to do it. During the forum, there were numerous professional talks scheduled for the representatives from different places. Relevant topics and issues of common concern were selected for further discussion and as contacts have been exchanged, it is hoped that professional dialogue can be continued.
