JS1 School Information Day

The S1 Admission Information Day is designed to give a flavour of what the School is really like, as well as providing information on many matters which may influence the choice of school of Primary 6 students. On the JS1 Admission Information Day, parents could have the chance to talk to various members of staff and to meet students who also show you the School. SCGMC is a living and lively community which needs to be seen to be appreciated fully.

The S1 Admission Information Day was held on 10 December 2011. We were pleased that the Information Day attracted more than 500 guests, parents and students. A wide repertoire of activities took place around the School, including Fencing Demonstration, Latin Dance Performance, English Games, Laboratory Experiments and Display of Students' Work. Students were on hand to guide you to wherever you wish to visit. Parents also came enthusiastically to attend the briefing on school ethos, EMI teaching & learning, our future direction and the quality education delivered to all our students by the Principal, Ms Agnes Tang and the members of the staff. There was a video show on the School Highlights of 2010-2011 as well as the Summer Bridging Programme in August 2011.

Parents are given the impression that students of SCGMC value not only academic excellence and personal enrichment, but also individual differences, and are always ready to make contributions to the school as a learning community. The approving response from the parents tells us that SCGMC is answering the needs of parents who trust us with their children and we are greatly encouraged in our hard work.

The introduction on the JS1 Admission Interview was a firm favourite with visitors to the School Information Day. Many parents and students raised concerns on the admission criteria. After listening to the answers from the Principal and the Vice Principal, they shared the feeling that they knew more about our school and better grasped some of the important hints for S1 Admission Interview. Most of them found the session of Question & Answer very inspiring and helpful.
