On 16th and 17th December 2011, all S.1 students returned to mainland China to study the economic and technological development of Guangzhou Province, especially the Dongguan city.

During the two-day journey, students visited the Lung Cheong Toys Manufacturing Company (龍昌玩具廠), Guangzhou Steel Manufacturing Factory (廣州鋼鐵廠), Guangzhou Institute for Energy Conversion (廣州能源研究所), Lake Songshan Technology Industrial Park (松山湖科技產業園區) and Huazhong University of Science and Technology Research Center (華中科技大學研究中心).

The experience was precious to students. They learned how large a manufacturing line could be when they visited the Lung Cheong and found it amazing when they looked at the giant and heavy production facilities in the steel-making factory. They were awed into silence by the large piece of land assigned for technology industries in Lake Songshan when they compared it with that of the Science Park in Hong Kong. They really believed that science and technology development in the mainland could improve the living condition and raise the living standard of people in China today.
