Visit to Hong Kong Jockey Club Riding School
參觀賽馬會騎術學校

On 19th and 20th December 2011, Form 4 students were invited to visit the Hong Kong Jockey Club Riding School. The activity was arranged by the Tung Wah Volunteer Team and was cataloged under the Work-related Experience item in the OLE. Form 4A and 4B students went on 19th while 4C, 4D and 4E students went on 20th. They visited the facilities there and learnt the riding skills.

During the visit, students learned that horse riding was a skill as well as an art. It was a skill since people needed to know how to use the saddle and horsewhip to control the horses at different speeds. However, it was an art when different riders communicated with the horses in different styles.

Students realized that horsing riding was a healthy sport and had nothing to do with horse racing. They learned how to make judgment by different angles and had a positive feeling on horse riding career.
