On 9th February 2012, Design and Technology Club members visited The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and joined the Glass Blowing Workshop. The workshop was arranged as an extra-curricular activity to arouse student’s interest in artistic and technological studies.

During the workshop, students learned that glass blowing is a skill as well as an art. It was a skill since people needed to know how to use suitable tools and techniques to control the melted glass at high temperature. On the other hand, it was an art when different products were created with different ideas.
