Sam Tung Uk Museum Visit by Chinese History and National Education Club
中史及國民教育學會參觀三楝屋

All members of Chinese History and National Education Club visited Sam Tung Uk Museum on 9 Feb 2012.

Sam Tung Uk Museum was built by a Chan clan who was originally from Fujian, and then moved to Tsuen Wan to engage in farming in 1786. The heritage has been carefully restored since 1981. The restoration work won the Pacific Heritage Award of the Pacific Asia Tourist Association in 1990.

Our students visited the ancestral halls, original houses, an exhibition hall and a lecture theatre of the museum. The agricultural implements and everyday objects of Hakka village life were also on permanent display. Students enjoyed a leisure time to learn outside classroom. They also got a precious opportunity to know more about Hong Kong history through visiting cultural heritage.
