To recognize the outstanding attainment of S. C. Gawers in the First Term of 2011-2012, an Outstanding Student Attainment Awards Ceremony for the First School Term was held on 1st March 2012.  It is indeed our honour to have the presence of Mr. SZE Wing-hang, Our School Supervisor and the 3rd Vice-Chairman of 2011/12 TWGHs Board of Directors, Mr Tang Yiu-pong, the School Manager and the Director of the TWGHs Board and Mr. Wu Kee-huen, Kenneth, Education Services Secretary of TWGHs.

The whole school gathered at the hall during the assembly period at 2:30 pm. The opening speech was delivered by the Supervisor, Mr. Sze.  He mentioned he was deeply impressed by the all-round success of our students in both local and international competitions.  What is more impressive, it covers both academic and non-academic areas.  He went on to congratulate the awards on their outstanding achievements and all these were vivid proof that the education mission of TWGHs in the quest of quality education has much been realized at S.C.Gaw.

It is our honour to have Mr. Sze and Mr. Tang to present the prizes in gifted education, extra-curricular activities and Academic Awards.  These prizes demonstrated how versatile our students have been—with stamina and perseverance in their pursuit and the courage to face all challenges ahead.  Resounding applause greeted the announcements of student achievements.  The awardees took pride in what they have achieved while parents and guests in rejoicing their unmatched successes.

After the prize presentation there came the performance of our students. In addition to the more familiar performances such as School Choir and Latin Dance by the outstanding prize-winning groups, this year a new performance of Harp Solo by a talented S.C.Gawer Crystal S.C. Cheung from S5B was added.  Greatly enthused, the ceremony ended with a movie show ‘A Re-collection of School Life of First Term of 2011/12 at S. C. Gaw’.  Sweet memories of student outstanding achievement linger on and we are looking forward to an even more fruitful as well as rewarding Second Term 2011/12 for the students of SCGMC!
