Inter-class Chinese and English Speech Competition
班際中英文演講比賽

S.1 to S.3 students were gathered in the hall attending an inter-class Chinese and English Speech Competition. There were one Chinese and English representatives respectively from each class who had taken months in preparing the topics they presented. Topics for S.1, S.2 and S.3 students were “A Story Book I Read”, “A Successful Person” and “A Comment on a Social Issue” respectively.

Participants were well prepared. S.1 participants highlighted the interesting contents of the books they read to their classmates. Their introduction gave the audience the feeling that it would be a loss if their classmates had not read those books.

For S.2, participants described to their classmates their choice of successful people and what lessons they had learned from their stories. For S.3, participants expressed their opinions on some current issues. The topics ranged from local to international issues including economics, political and social affairs. They critically evaluated the issues according to their standpoints with solid and comprehensive supporting evidence.
