7 students from S.2 (2A Chou Ka Ying, Ki Cheong Yau, Shek Tsz Yu, Wan Yin Wai, Lau Ka Ki , Lam Kin Yan and Yiu Tsz King) have participated in the "Putonghua Training Programme for Student Tourism Ambassadors" which was organized by the PolyU-affiliated Hong Kong Community College (HKCC).

7 students from S.2 have participated the "Putonghua Training Programme for Student Tourism Ambassadors" for secondary school students. It is one of the Putonghua promotional activities of the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR). The aim of the programme is to encourage the use of Putonghua among secondary school students through interesting activities. The Programme is also strongly supported by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Avenue of Stars, Hong Kong Association for the Promotion of Pinyin Quality Education and Hong Kong Association of Registered Tour Co-ordinators.

The programme, which runs from November 2011 to March 2012, consists of workshops on Putonghua speaking skills, tourism subject studies, field trips and presentation. It brings together the use of Putonghua and the skills of being a tourism ambassador. Through this programme, our students' Putonghua communication ability has improved a lot.
