On 11th to 15th April 2012, outstanding students elected by The Association of Heads of Secondary Schools of Tsuen Wan, Kwai Chung & Tsing Yi District visited Chengdu. An S.C.Gawer, Lai Wing Yan (賴穎欣) (5A), was one of them.

During the journey, they visited the YMCA of Hong Kong School (港青學校) and taught S.2 students idioms and phrases. They chatted with local students and learned a lot about the education condition in Chengdu. Then they visited an elderly centre. They were warmly welcomed by the old people living there and played with them group games. The most shocking experience to them was the visit to the ruins of the 5.12 earthquake in Sichuan. There they witnessed the havoc caused by the earthquake: rubble, wrecked buildings and ground subsidence. They could imagine the tremendous horror people felt at the moment of earthquake. The experience is unforgettable and students all pledge their devotion to the country whenever the country is in need.
