On 12th May 2012, forty S.C.Gawers visited green facilities located in TWGHs Fong Shu Chuen Social Service Building (東華三院方樹泉社會服務大樓) and MTR Kowloon Bay Depot (港鐵九龍灣車廠). During the visit, students learned how a responsible organization plays an active role in sustainable development of our society. The TWGHs launches a program that includes collecting and recycling different kinds of clothing, toys, papers and books from schools, private residential estates and public housing estates and the selling of the recycled goods to provide opportunities for the under-privileged persons to earn a reasonable income. The MTR carries out "Environmentally Friendly Linkage System" that achieves the objectives of saving energy and providing an efficient mass transportation service to the people of Hong Kong. Students understand that what they have learned in the textbook is really practiced by organizations in real life and they would be proud of themselves if they were one of the members in such environmental friendly organizations.
