SCGMC puts due emphasis on Moral Education & Students' Healthy Development
東華三院吳祥川紀念中學重視品德教育及學生健康成長
The local community of Tsing Yi Estate and TWGHs S. C. Gaw Memorial College showed our worries and have raised great concern on the proposal of the moving the Jockey Club Off-course Betting Centre 賽馬會場外投注站 from Maritime Square 青衣城 to the Marketplace of Tsing Yi Estate 青衣村街市. Letter indicating our objections to such a Moving was sent to the Home Affairs Department & Kwai Tsing District Board on 14th May, 2012. Our Principal, Ms Agnes Tang was interviewed by the Oriental Daily on 21st June, 2012. By now, it was reported that the proposal for such a moving has been aborted.

青衣村附近最少兩間中學早前去信民政處及區議員辦事處， 強烈反對於青衣村街市重置投注站。「無論係由家長同教育工作者角度去睇，都會反對！」東華三院吳祥川紀念中學校長鄧蕙珍認為，於屋村範圍設置投注站，擔心助長賭博的風氣，對學童造成不良的影響。
