To promote an awareness on Spinal Cord Injury, our College has organized a Kick-off Ceremony of Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Awareness in Schools on Wednesday, 27th June, 2012. The activities of the SCI Awareness Day and the Kick-off Ceremony aimed at encouraging our students to take all necessary precautions against the hazards in life that may result in Spinal Cord Injury.

It is our greatest honour to have the presence of Ms Maisy Ho, 4th Chairman, 2012/13 TWGHs Board of Directors (東華三院 2012/13董事局何超蕸第四副主席親臨主禮) to officiate at the Kick-off Ceremony of the Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Awareness Day. 《脊髓健康關注日暨啟動典禮》在青川. Other honourable guests included Ms Suzanne Poon, Chairlady, HKSCIF (潘黃美玲女士), Ms Ella Lau, Chairlady, YDMA Organizing Committee (劉懿翎女士), Dr Christine Leung Chi Mei, Vice Chair, Direction Association for the Handicapped (梁子微博士) and Mr Kenneth Wu Kee Huen, Education Services Secretary of TWGHs (吳奇壎學務總主任), In the opening address by Ms Suzanne Poon, Chairlady, HKSCIF, by drawing the accident of her son in skiing and with spinal cord injured. Our guest speaker, Mr So Wing Tong (蘇永通先生) telling us how he had to sit on wheelchair for a number of years --- just after playing at the swimming pool at the age of 16. Officiating guest, Ms Ho and all the other guests and student representatives lit up a healthy spinal cord and signed a pledge for Spinal Cord Injury Awareness. In the lovely tune performed by our Marching Band, SCI Awareness at SCGMC was launched. In the morning, we also have SCI Awareness Stall Games at the Podium and Covered Playground --- greater understanding of SCI and awareness of precaution against spinal cord injury was thus promoted.
