About 15 student leaders from Board of Studies, Board of Discipline, Department of Guidance, Department of Life Education and Department of Extra-curricular activities attended a seminar conducted by Mr. Archie McGlynn on 28 June 2012. The title is ‘Why English learning is important’.

The participation in the workshop was quite excellent. The students demonstrated that they can work together in a group to share ideas, and also to express the ideas in English to complete the posters. They also showed that they can present orally in English without any fuss - all four tables preseented their posters using the visualiser
and every single participant took part in the oral presentation. Then they worked together to produce an overall summary from the four posters with Hayley Chan, student leader from Department of Extra-curricular activities, writing it up using the visualiser. 

This seminar not only gives these student leaders a chance of reflecting the importance of English learning, but also puts them in a better position in helping S.C.Gaw to become an EMI ready school with their capacity.
