S.C.Gaw Teachers' Educational Tour to Shenzhen
全體老師深圳教育交流團

To learn more about the modern education in Mainland China, S.C.Gaw Teachers, led by the Principal and Vice-Principal, grabbed the opportunity to visit the famous Haiwang Middle School (海旺中學) in Shenzhen.

The programme started with a tour round the school. Teachers were exhilarated when they discovered the outstanding facilities that were well-designed for educational purpose. There was a theatre for film show and students’ performance, a micro-teaching room for collabroative teaching, a natural room with mass samples of agricultures, butterflies, ocean creatures and even dinasour models, the well-decorated art room with paintings on the ceiling and the psychological therapy room that consisted of tools to help students release their anger. The most distinct construction was the Physics Corridor which was designed as a small exhibition centre with Science and Astronomy displays.

Then, Principal of Haiwang introduced to us the history and missions of the school. Although the school was new, it was well-known by local and overseas educational bodies. Even the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals had arranged a visit to the school not long ago.

Throughout the visit, we were deeply inspired. Even though our school campus was not as large as that of Haiwang, we could improve the facilities of our campus to enrich the education capacity and quality. There were rooms for improvement and today we had a lot of ideas on where to go.
