二零一一至二零一二年度結業暨頒獎典禮
Our Annual School Closing cum End-of-Year Prize Presentation Ceremony was held on the last day of this academic year, July 10, 2012. The gracious presence of Mr Sze Wing Hang, our School Supervisor & 2nd Vice-Chairman, 2012/13 Tung Wah Board of Directors, Mrs Rossana Gaw and Ms Christina Gaw, our School Donor cum Independent School Manager, Mr Kenneth Wu, Education Services Secretary of Tung Wah Group of Hospital, Mr Wong Chi Keung, PTA Chairman cum Parent Manager and Mr Tse Kwok Wai, PTA Vice-Chairman cum Parent Manager Designate, was an inspiration to our students, teachers as well as the parents.
Accompanied by the School Marching Band, the procession of the official party led by Mr Sze marked the opening. A video show on school lifebrought us back to many happy memories and reminded each of us the efforts we have made in this academic year. It was then followed by an opening remarks by Mr Sze. He appreciated the tremendous achievements of students in this school year and is confident that the school will keep moving forward in spite of the myriad challenges ahead.
Our Guest of Honour, Mrs Rossana Gaw presented Attainment Awards, Subject Awards and Conduct Awards to those who achieved the top three in different subjects and the first three positions in the class as well as top in the form. Also, the aspiring dancers, actresses and artists, together with avid actors & actresses, readers, writers, musicians, student leaders and sportsmen as well as sportswomen in Inter-school, regional and territory-wide tournaments and competitions came under the spotlight of the Prize-giving Ceremony.
Parents have attended the prize-giving ceremony to celebrate the achievements of the versatile students. Under the guidance of club advisers, uniform group advisers, subject teachers, coaches, tutors and many experts, our teenagers have tasted the fruits of toils and labour. Keep up with your good efforts, young awardees.
Long Service Award was presented to a dedicated janitor and 5 teachers, for their untiring effort in making our College a conducive environment to learning.
On this occasion, our student representatives presented souvenirs to Mr Sze, Mrs Rossana Gaw & Ms Christina Gaw and Mr Kenneth Wu. These committed role models have made considerable contribution to S. C. Gaw today. All is well that ends well.
At the end, our guests, teachers and fellow students were entertained by the performance of our students. There were recitation performances in Chinese, English and Putonghua by the prize-winners of a number of inter-school verse speaking and public speaking competitions. Then our renowned Chinese Dance Team gave us a vibrant finale with colourful rain of bamboo and notes of raindrops.
We would like to congratulate every keen student whose time was spent on developing their talents, improving their knowledge and rendering services to the community last year. As our students have altogether secured more than 1430 prizes and awards in this short period of 10 months of this school year, we are greatly proud of their wonderful performance and outstanding attainment!
As a token of appreciation and encouagement to our teachers for their hard work and remarkable achievements, a post-ceremony gathering was held at the English Learning Activity Centre by the School Supervisor and School Managers. Afterwards, the staff community was invited to a lunch buffet at Regency Hyatt by Mrs Rossana Gaw. We were grateful to the support and recognition of Mr Sze, Mrs Gaw and Mr Wu. S. C. Gaw community was greatly inspired and impressed. Though we know that education of the young is an arduous task, we do know that we are not alone—we are more confident to make S. C. Gaw an Outstanding EMI School best caters for student all-round attainment.
