「愛我中華」兩岸四地青年學生大匯聚火車團2012─海南島夢想之旅
The Study Tour was organized by Hong Kong Youth Exchange Association and Tung Wah students were invited. Three S.C.Gaw students joined the programme. The journey was an integration of cultural and natural studies. On 23rd July, participants gathered at Shatin Hall for the Departure Ceremony. They then took a bus to Jiangmen (江門) where they visited Jiangmen Museum. On the second day, they moved to Zhanjiang (湛江). There, they organized the Dream Action Party at the hotel. Students shared their dreams and exchanged ideas with each other on how they would get to their goals.
For the last few days, they settled in Haikou City where they spent most of their time studying. Haikou City is located at the north of Hainan Island and is the largest city there. Students visited the remains of a dead volcano. There were numerous types of rocks solidified from erupted magma millions of years ago. To learn more about the future development of Hainan, students visited the Hainan Planning Museum (海南規劃館). There was a talk in Hainan University where they were told the recent “Twelve Five-Year Plan” of China (“十二五”規劃) and were encouraged to take a more active role in the future development of the country. Then, they toured round the University District.
Students returned on 29th July and they brought with them memories that enhanced their interest on the Mainland. After the journey, they wish to learn more and be closer to their mother country.
