A General Education Seminar was held by the Tung Wah Group of Hospital at Shatin Town Hall on 26th October, 2012. More than 800 teachers and senior form students from the Tung Wah Secondary Schools were invited to attend. The talk was presented by Dr. LAU Chi-pang, Associate Professor, Department of History, Lingnan University; and Co-ordinator, Hong Kong & South China Historical Research Programme. He talked to students about the relationship between Mainland China and Hong Kong surrounding political, social, economic aspects with real life examples such as our fresh water from Dongjiang, the CEPA and SARS. The presentation was interesting and students were enthusiastic to raise questions. Through discussion with Dr. Lau, students’ knowledge about China-Hong Kong relationship has been enriched and their critical thinking ability has been enhanced.
