S.1 Cheung Chau Adventure Day
中一長洲挑戰日

On 17th November, all S.1 students and peer group leaders participated in the programme Cheung Chau Adventure Day jointly organized by Peer Group Guidance and school social workers. The activity aimed at fostering their social and emotional development that would facilitate a smooth and easy transition from primary to junior secondary education.

S.1 students and their peer group leaders faced different challenges such as taking photos with foreigners, group dancing in the assigned checkpoint, exploring Cheung Po Tsai Cave in Cheung Chau. Each group set goals and planned their routes. They were delighted to share their feelings and views once they did every task successfully. At the same time, learning beyond the classroom does not simply apply to outing, excursion and day trip alone. Furthermore, service rendered by the Elder Brothers and Sisters is a vivid testimony of service learning which is promoted as one of the essential learning experiences for the S. C. Gawers.
