S.1 Study Program in Mainland China : ‘Together from the Same Root - Zhaoqing Natural Landscape and Conservation’
中一級國內交流活動:「同根同心 - 肇慶的自然地貌及保育」
A two-day study program in Mainland China to S.1 students was held on 15th and 16th March 2013. During the two days, students visited Zhaoqing and learned the natural landscape and conservation in China. Early in the morning on 15th March, students gathered in school. They took the coaches to Shenzhen Bay Port and got into China. Their first site was Dinghu Mountain (鼎湖山) and Butterfly Valley (蝴蝶谷), Students were astonished when they discovered that the water in the lake was crystal clear. Then, they appreciated different species of butterflies and primitive vegetations in the valley. Students were busy in taking notes and preparing their sharing at night in local hotels.
The second day was also exciting. Students woke up early at 6:30 am. After having breakfast, they went to Seven Star Crags (七星岩). They admired the wonderful natural landscape and learned the conservation works done by the local government. After that, they visited the Zhaoqing Museum and City Wall built in Song Dynasty in which they learned a lot about architecture and culture of ancient Chinese people.
Time went fast and the journey came to an end when students returned to Hong Kong at 5:30 pm. The trip was wonderful and brought so many unforgettable memories to both students and teachers.
