Our students from the Biology class went to Ho Koon Nature Education cum Astronomical Centre to attend a 3-day / 2-night residential field study course from 8th to 10th April of 2013.
In the day time, students had their lessons at Ho Koon Nature Education cum Astronomical Centre. At night, students resided at Tso Kung Tam Outdoor Recreation Centre. During these 3 days, the students carried out two field studies in two different habitats. They went to Tai Po Kau Nature Reserve to study the biodiversity of Hong Kong. They visited Chuen Lung of Tai Mo Shan to study the freshwater stream ecosystem. In addition to lectures, field studies and laboratory work, the students were encouraged to present their proposal of study and findings.
It is expected that through these field studies, students can further develop skills in planning and conducting investigations, expressing ideas and understanding, thinking scientifically and solving problems as well as working individually and in teams.
