The S1 Bridging & Induction Programme Passing-out Ceremony was held on 23rd August, 2013. This year we have the honour of having District Council Members of the Kwai Tsing District, Ms LAM Chui-ling, Nancy, MH, Ms POON Siu-ping, Nancy, MH and Ms TAM Wai-chun, MH as our officiating guests. Besides, Mr Chun Ho Lau, Sergeant, Hong Kong Police Force, Kwai Tsing Police District, Police Community Relations Office, School Liaison Officer (Secondary) and parents of the S.1 new students were invited to share the joy with our teachers and students.

The ceremony began when our Principal, Ms Tang started her welcoming speech. She was delighted as there were more than a hundred parents participating the ceremony. She told parents the major theme of the programme was to cultivate the self-care ability of our S.1 students so that they could develop themselves as capable students in academic studies and extra-curricular activities. Our officiating guest Ms Lam shared with parents the importance of parent-child relationship and how core positive values can be established and moral standards can be raised through a close relationship between children and parents.

Then, here came the students’ performance. The first performance was a drama performed by our new S.1 students. Even though the drama was just around 20 minutes, our students showed that they are able to talk with each other in fluent English and they are capable of using English as a medium of learning. The second was Oboe sole performance and the last was Martial Arts Team performance.

Afterwards, all S.1 students marched in teams to the hall reviewed by our honourable guests Ms Lam accompanied by our Principal. The neat and tidy formation showed that they were well-disciplined and well-behaved students and their performance was highly appreciated.

Our honourable guests then awarded graduation certificates to our S.1 students and certificates to students obtaining ‘Best in Footdrill Award’ and ‘Best in Adventure-base Award’. These certificates confirmed their success in overcoming the challenges during the training and we all hope that they can have the same courage to face difficulties in all aspects in the coming years.

To recall the memories of students and to share with parents what their children had done in these days, a video summarizing the activities of the whole training program was shown. S.1 students were then divided into groups to take photos with our guests, Principal and teachers. At last, parents were so excited that they rushed out for a photo together. This photo showed how joyful and delighted the parents are when they have their students in our school and how grateful our S.1 students are as they can have their coming 6 years living in the big family of S.C.Gaw.
