An elderly service called the "Heart-To-Heart School" Programme, which is organized by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, was successfully completed last month. Its objective is to review the lives of the elderly through volunteers and, by so doing, gain an appreciation of the successes and contributions of the elderly to our society.

During the programme, a group of our students accompanied by our school social workers regularly visited an elderly centre in Tsing Yi. Although some elderly people have early symptoms of brain degeneration, our volunteers spoke patiently with them and they were delighted when they were able to recall their memories. The programme is meaningful as it can enhance the service spirit of our students and our school was the worthy recipient of the "Heart-To-Heart School" Award in recognition of the enthusiastic participation of our students.

由香港青年協會『有心計劃』贊助，有心學校系列中的「舊情懷、新故事」長者服務計劃已於上月順利完成，計劃的目的是透過義工與長者回顧人生，從中回味人生歷程，肯定長者過去的付出和成就，並為長者製作生命故事冊以記錄長者生活的點滴。

是次計劃由學校社工跟一班校內同學組織起來，與青衣區內的長者中心合作，定期訪問參與是次計劃的長者。參與的長者中雖然有人患上初期腦退化症狀，但跟同學們傾談起生活的片段時都顯得十分雀躍。是次活動能提高同學的服務精神，非常有意義。由於同學積極參與，本校獲頒「有心學校」獎。
