On 17 October 2015, we invited Dr. Shum Kam Hong, the Principal of Pui Ching Academy to give a talk (2:05 pm – 3:05 pm) on further studies in Taiwan to our S4 to S6 parents and students at the school hall. Dr. Shum introduced the basic requirement of enrollment of different Taiwan universities. He also tried to compare the different expenditures of studying including the tutorial fees, accommodation fees and living costs in Taiwan and Hong Kong. This critical information can help the interested parents to estimate the budget of their children studying in Taiwan.

Moreover, Dr. Shum listed the procedures of application and highlighted those important dates for the students as reference so that students know how and when to submit their applications. There are many ways for students to submit their applications and Dr. Shum clearly explained the characteristics and outcomes of using different ways. Dr. Shum also recommended interested students to attend the coming Taiwan Tertiary Education Exhibition 2015.

After the talk, students can grasp the general situation of further studies in Taiwan including the recognition of qualification and the enrollment procedures. Dr. Shum has also stayed after the talk discussing with students who have high interests in further studies in Taiwan.
