21-22 January 2016
The 31st School Athletic Meet

The 31st School Athletic Meet was held at Kwai Chung Sports Ground on 21 and 22, December 2014. Students took part in various positions including athletes, student helpers and members of the cheering teams. The opening ceremony was held in which athletes from the Houses of Diligence, Frugality, Loyalty and Faithfulness marched into the sports venue. The whole venue was kept in silence when the National Flag was being raised. Then our Principal, Ms Tang delivered her opening speech. She was looking forward to the remarkable performances of our athletes and hoped that we could work together to make this Sports Day successful. Then the representatives of athletes took the oath. Followed by the horn ceremony held by our Principal, the two-day events commenced.

All kinds of track and field events were on schedule during the two days, like events such as 100 to 3000M races, hurdles, relays, high jumps, long jumps, triple jumps, shot put, discus throws and javelin throws. Most of the heats were carried out on the first day while the finals were arranged on the second day. The most exciting events were the 4x100m relays and the most striking one was the 3000M race in which we had students, parents and teachers participating. The last program of these two days was the closing ceremony. It was our pleasure to have Mr TANG Chi Pang (鄧志鵬校長), Principal of Tsing Yi Chu Yan Primary School (聖公會青衣主恩小學) to be our guest of honour. Mr. Tang presented his closing address in which he admired the bilingual characteristic of our school web pages and the promotion of English in our school. He shared with us his experience in sports day when he was young. He further appreciated the performance of the athletes and encouraged our students to keep the spirit of sport and not to give up when facing challenges. After the prize presentation ceremony, the two-day Athletic Meet came to an end successfully.

During these two days, there were winners who got their prizes while there were athletes who needed to be cheered up by their friends. No matter what has happened to us, the spirit of sports and the unforgettable memories would be with us. We are all winners.
