To foster closer home-school co-operation and facilitate better communication with parents, the parents of S1 were invited to have a gathering in the afternoon on 16 April 2016. There were more than a hundred of parents and students attending the gathering.

To begin with, Mr Yip introduced Ms. Chan, the representative from the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers to S.1 students and their parents. Ms Chan told the S.1 students and their parents the objectives and contents of the study tour ¡§Same Root and Heart ¡V The Development of Private and Joint Ventures in China¡¨ so that students can prepare for the study tour properly.

It was then followed by a parent seminar conducted by Ms. Ma Cho Man who is the Children and Youth Services Program Director of the Psychological Trauma. She told the parents how to identify the children in need of emotional support and suggested a variety of ways to help them.

After the hall activity, parents were divided into small groups together with the homeroom teachers of their children. The parents shared their experiences in guiding and supporting their children with the teachers and they were told about the learning of their children in school.

The gathering ended at five and the parents left with a better understanding of their children's performance in school. We all believed that more home-school cooperation and closer link between school and parents is an asset to the healthy growth of our students.
