Education in TWGHs S. C. Gaw Memorial College |
The Tung Wah Group of Hospital, the school sponsoring body, founded in 1870, has deeply-felt views on the education it provides. Great emphasis is placed within the schools on developing a sense of integrity, positive values, social consciousness and commitment towards learning, life, family, community and country in accordance with our School Motto "Diligence, Frugality, Loyalty and Faithfulness" 「勤、儉、忠、信」. |
TWGHs S. C. Gaw Memorial College is a school with many fine qualities, but without doubt the most important is the recognition which your son or daughter receives as a unique and valued individual. The parents are closely involved with us as we meet the distinctive needs of their children together. |
In furtherance of these aims, the School Sponsoring Body has insisted on giving a major emphasis to the learning of English & Putonghua. The aim, to have all students to be "biliterate and trilingual”, has been the aim for many decades. |
To keep abreast with time, the School has now firmly committed itself to ensuring that all graduates are fully computer literate in both English and Chinese, as a natural extension to the long-standing aim of the School that they will be at ease with both the spoken and written forms of both languages, English, Chinese & Putonghua. |
The emphasis of pastoral care, and on a sense of partnership between school and home, is balanced with our commitment to achieving excellence in academic, cultural and sporting pursuits. |
I am confident that in an atmosphere of high expectation, backed by consistent encouragement, we can offer your child the reality of personal achievement and success. |
