Greetings to the English Ambassadors from the Principal, Ms Tang Wai Chun, Agnes

As a school which puts equal emphasis on English and Chinese, it is the priority of TWGHs S. C. Gaw that an English language rich environment is created such that students will learn to master the use of English effectively.  To this effect, regular activities are held, like making Wednesday an English speaking day, chatting at or playing games in the English Corner, English Campus --- Useful Vocabulary and Phrases.  At the same time, the ¡¥From the Heart¡¦ Letter to the Principal, an English Writing Scheme will be started as from October.  As a whole-school approach, we believe in the power and importance of peer influence, that is why the English Ambassador Scheme is implemented.  In this Morning Assembly, I am happy to know that 68 students from various forms will be appointed as the English Ambassadors this year.

I took great pride when I knew that the English Ambassadors will take charge of promoting English activities.  As the pioneers, you may have to speak English to your classmates and schoolmates in and out of the classroom.  Just imagine each English Ambassador speaks English with 4 schoolmates on every English speaking day on Wednesday, in a month, all students of the school should have been chatted with an English Ambassador.  Students should have benefited greatly from the constant exposure to English.  To some of you, it sounds very challenging.  But I can tell you it is very meaningful and rewarding.  Also, I can assure you that if you have made up your mind to be a dutiful ambassador, nothing is impossible.  Let¡¦s work hand in hand in making S. C. Gaw an excellent English learning environment.  Thank you!
